JOB SUMMARY
The Director of People Analytics has primary responsibility for setting the strategy and vision and for managing the day-to-day tactical operations of the People Analytics Team. The director will manage a team of reporting analysts, developers, and contractors as needed, focus on developing insightful and actionable analytics, and work alongside Information Systems to optimize reporting and business intelligence products used to help BSW HR Leaders make informed decisions and provide insight on HR initiatives. The Director will lead the team by establishing and executing a vision for the delivery of information and analytics standards to the business key stakeholders, including, internal staff, partners and clients. The Director will have extensive data analysis experience, expertise with various reporting tools, and experience gathering data and mapping data for analytical systems. The individual must have extensive understanding of a large health care system’s operations and unique human resource context, data, and its associated mapping and analytics.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Work closely with the HR executive team and BSWH Information Systems (IS) to develop an overall strategic vision and execution of the Oracle Analytics Cloud solution to support HR analytics and reporting requirements
- Develop advanced analytics capabilities and solutions that deliver actionable insight into the employee experience and that drive strategic initiatives that will enable a world class employee experience for our fellow team members
- Direct and provides appropriate leadership, guidance, and support to staff through delegation, consultation, support and evaluation. Also demonstrates leadership that supports independent and positive approaches to moving all initiatives forward (ability to influence senior level leaders and stakeholders)
- Drive HR Business Analytics program initiatives from concept through final implementation, utilizing agile project management methodologies to ensure cross-functional teams deliver with quality, on-time, and within budget
- Provides input to IS for the overall architecture, design, development, and maintenance of the HR analytics and reporting capabilities
- Support implementation team for migration of existing on-premise HR ERP solution to new cloud based solution. This includes migration to new Oracle Cloud Analytics solution
- Works with IS to review technology opportunities and serves as key stakeholder for formal recommendations related to solving HR business objectives.
- Develop and enforces policies associated with access and use of data
- Lead a team of professionals who are responsible for extending HR measures and self service analytics tools to HR senior leadership and the system at large
- Defines measurements of success and provide creative and innovative thinking to evaluate the risks and rewards for HR business planning and decision making
- Establishes a framework for standardization of maintaining custom HR data reporting and analytics
- Works with the different functional teams to ensure HR data needs, models, and solutions are supported in the overall framework
- Works with IS to ensure that the overall strategy, design, and integration of data align to the HR strategy and vision.
- Stay abreast of health system HR business functional, technical, architecture, and infrastructure challenges and act as a trusted advisor to aid in the development of creative solutions
- Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional, and courteous manner
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- In-depth functional knowledge and understanding of human resource domain analytics platforms and processes and concepts (i.e. - Oracle OBI and Oracle Cloud ;& Oracle Cloud Analytics, HCM preferred)
- In-depth knowledge and experience with human resource challenges and operations at a large health care system (including but not limited to: operations, legal, supply chain, regulatory, and risk)
- Ability to build strong relationships and partner with key HR executives to achieve shared goals and objectives
- Experience with migration / implementation of Oracle Cloud HCM & Oracle Cloud Analytics (or other Cloud HCM solution)
- Experience leading and managing a team of product owners, data and BI analysts/engineers, business analysts, and reporting analysts
- Experience with designing and implementing employee experience strategic programs and solutions
- Experience establishing strategies, processes, and standards in support of HR data management, operations, change management, and deployment, including sun-setting and transitioning existing technologies
- Possess excellent communication (oral and written) and strong analytical skills
- Understanding of data warehouse architecture, data engineering, and advanced analytics capabilities (i.e. machine learning, cognitive compute, etc.)
- Understanding with extract, transform and load (ETL) processes and solutions
- Experience with BI processes and tools (preferred Microsoft Power BI)

The Center for Biostatistics and Epidemiology (CBE) at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) at Temple University seeks to recruit a Research Informatics scientist/faculty at the levels of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The new faculty member will carry a tenure-track or non-tenure-track faculty appointment in LKSOM within the Department of Biomedical Education and Data Sciences. Clinicians and non-clinicians are welcome to apply.
The CBE provides critical support for clinical, translational, and basic research at LKSOM. Our mission is to offer biostatistical and epidemiological research resources, develop clinical research programs, educate trainees in clinical research methods, and nurture collaboration across multiple disciplines. The occupant of this position will oversee Informatics activities at the CBE, including Temple’s participation as a PaTH PCORnet (National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network) site. In addition, this occupant will contribute to enhancing the Research Informatics infrastructure at LKSOM.
