A few other tips to keep in mind when booking your room:

  • Rooms are available starting October 3rd and running through October 15th at the HDAA Conference Rate
  • If you are trying to book pre and post nights or bed types that are no longer available, you will receive a sold out message. If this occurs, click the “notify hotel” button. This will send a notification to our partners at W Seattle who will reach out and assist you. (If you do not do this, there will be no contact information for W Seattle to respond to.)

INFORMATION FOR SUBMISSIONS

 

SUBMISSIONS for the 2018 Conference are now closed. 

July 2: First draft of all presentations and posters DUE

July – August: Committee returns any edits/suggestions to presenters

September 1: Final draft presentations and posters DUE

Presentation: An individual or group presentation lasting 30 minutes (presentations–25 min, questions–5 min). Presentations will be chosen by the Presentation and Poster Committee. A standard PowerPoint template will be provided which must be used for posters and presentations (see link below).

Poster: An exhibit hall type format where conference attendees may approach your poster to ask questions or listen to your "presentation." Posters will be chosen by the Presentation and Poster Committee. A standard PowerPoint template will be provided which must be used for posters and presentations (see link below). Posters are to be sized 2' x 3' (24"x36"). Printing of Posters will be arranged by the Presentation and Poster Committee. It is recommended that posters be submitted in PDF Format. Posters that have not been submitted to the Presentation and Poster Committee prior to the conference will not be accepted. There will only be enough easels/hanging materials at the conference for the posters that have been turned in prior to the conference. The conference center will not allow any posters to be hung on the walls. Internet access will not be available during the poster session. The session is strictly for posters, not demonstrations.

Panel Discussion: A discussion between 3-5 panel members led by a facilitator in front of a large group. Final panel topics will be chosen by the Panel and Round Table Committee.

Round Table: Small group discussion lead by a facilitator around a specific topic. Final round table topics will be chosen by the Panel and Round Table Committee.

Presentation Templates:  Presentation and poster templates will be posted on this page as soon as they are available.

 


 

HDAA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

 

The Healthcare Data and Analytics Association (HDAA) is pleased to announce scholarship offerings for attendance at the 2018 HDAA Annual Conference in Seattle, Washington, October 8-11, 2018. This opportunity is available to undergraduate and graduate students in a computer, business, analytics or healthcare related degree program. We encourage those receiving a scholarship to present a poster at the Conference. No membership fee is required to join HDAA, however, you must become a member to attend the conference.

Scholarship Applications are DUE by August 17th

Scholarships include the conference registration fee of $1,000, breakfast and lunch October 9th-10th, as well as breakfast on October 11th. Scholars are also invited to the following:

  • Meet & Greet on Monday, October 8th at 5:00pm
  • Scholarship Breakfast with HDAA Board on Tuesday, October 9th at 7:00am
  • HDAA Networking Reception at the Seattle Aquarium on Tuesday, October 9th at 6:30pm

Please note that any travel and hotel stays are the responsibility of the scholarship recipient.

To be eligible a student must:

  • Be an active HDAA member – Apply here. 
  • Be enrolled in at least 6 credits for the current semester at an accredited university as determined by the U.S. Department of Education

To apply, please submit:

  • A 250-500 word essay describing your future plans for your career and how this conference will enhance these plans
  • A letter of recommendation from a professor at your university
  • Proof of enrollment
